The Ring in His Coat Wasn't for Me

The story

Three days before her birthday, a woman finds an engagement ring in her boyfriend Caleb's coat and believes six years of waiting are finally over. Then she watches him propose to his childhood sweetheart, hand the woman her promotion, and publicly brand his real girlfriend a thief. She quietly quits, packs her life, and agrees to marry the heir her family chose. Caleb assumes she will crawl back, unaware her new husband owns the company beneath his feet.
